Kingdom Top Bet List

Method

How we compare sportsbooks.

A walk-through of the steps our editors take when reviewing a UK-facing sports betting operator. Useful if you want to do your own comparison too.

Step 1 — Confirm the licence

Every operator on this site holds a UK Gambling Commission licence. We check the licence number on the operator’s site and look it up on the public register. If a licence is suspended or surrendered, the operator is removed from our shortlist.

Step 2 — Read the welcome offer in full

We open the welcome offer and read its full terms — qualifying stake, odds requirements, free-bet expiry, eligible markets and exclusions. Operators that present these clearly score better than those that bury them behind several clicks.

Step 3 — Walk through sign-up

We complete the registration flow. We pay attention to whether deposit and time limits are offered up front, whether the operator asks for sensible verification information, and whether the responsible gambling tools are signposted clearly.

Step 4 — Place small pre-match and in-play bets

Where appropriate, we make a small deposit, place a few low-stake pre-match and in-play bets, and watch how prices, suspensions and bet receipts behave. We note any friction in the bet placement flow, and how quickly stated information matches the actual experience.

Step 5 — Try a withdrawal

We attempt a withdrawal of a modest amount and time it. We note the methods available, any minimums and whether the operator’s stated processing times are realistic in practice.

Step 6 — Look at safer gambling tools

We open the account area, find the limits and time-out controls, and check the self-exclusion path. We also look at where GAMSTOP, GamCare and GambleAware are referenced.

Step 7 — Write the editorial note

Finally, we write a short editorial note describing what we saw. The note avoids superlatives, does not promise winnings, and is balanced enough to mention things we did not love alongside what we did.
