Editorial
How we review and compare operators.
We aim for clarity over hype. Each operator is reviewed against the same shortlist of criteria so the comparison stays consistent.
Selection
We only consider operators that are licensed to serve customers in Great Britain by the UK Gambling Commission. From that pool we choose a manageable number of brands to review at any one time, balancing well-known sportsbooks with less prominent UK options to give a useful comparison view.
Review criteria
- Market depth — coverage across football, racing, tennis and other major sports, including specials and outrights.
- Pricing transparency — how prices are displayed, whether boosts are explained and how rule-4 or void rules are presented.
- In-play behaviour — how often markets are suspended, how quickly they reopen and whether streams (where offered) are stable.
- Bet builder & cash out — how clearly incompatible selections are flagged and how the cash-out price is explained.
- Payment options — supported deposit and withdrawal methods, stated processing times and any limits.
- Mobile experience — performance and feature parity on the mobile site or app, including bet placement under load.
- Settlement & support — how quickly settled bets appear in the bet history and how the help centre handles common queries.
- Responsible gambling visibility — how easy deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion are to find and use.
Scoring
The score on each card is an editorial summary of these criteria, expressed on a 10 point scale. Scores are not regulatory ratings, are not endorsed by the operator, and do not predict the outcome of any individual bet. Different operators score differently — we do not award the same score to every brand.
What we do not do
- We do not claim any operator is “officially the best” or “officially recommended”.
- We do not guarantee winnings, payouts, approvals or outcomes.
- We do not publish made-up customer testimonials or invented user numbers.
- We do not let commercial relationships dictate the editorial view.
Updates and corrections
Sportsbooks change. We refresh editorial notes on a recurring basis and as material things change — for example a new payment method, a removed promotion or a major interface update. If you spot something out of date or inaccurate, please get in touch through the contact page and we will look at it.
Conflicts of interest
We may earn commission from outbound links to operators. We disclose this clearly on every page and on our affiliate disclosure page. Reviewers do not hold financial stakes in operators they cover.
